Gypsies, Weavers, Chariots… Folk Songs of Many Lands: featuring melodies from Hungary, France, South Africa, and Venezuela, as well as American folk songs and spirituals. The program includes Brahms' "Gypsy Songs", opus 103, selections from Aaron Copland's "Old American Songs", and selections from Francis Poulenc's "Eight French Songs". Sing Me a Story!: A family-friendly concert featuring choral music based on stories and rhymes for children of all ages. Selections will include musical settings of nursery rhymes and poetry for children, including "Sing a Song of Sixpence," "The Owl and the Pussycat," and others. The centerpiece of the program will be John Rutter's fun and dramatic mini-opera "The Reluctant Dragon," based on a tale by Kenneth Grahame. With Carl Johengen, conductor. Program partnered with the Family Reading Partnership. Donations of gently used children's books in good condition are invited, to help stock 40 Bright Red Bookshelves throughout Tompkins County.

Includes music of Johannes Brahms, Felix Mendelssohn, Fanny Hensel, and Reynaldo Hahn, as well as American composers Giselle Wyers, Michael Hennagin, Rene Claussen, and Cole Porter.
